Psalm 91:3-4 Golden Feathers of Protection

Psalm 91:3-4 (NIV)
Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings, you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

Consider the following:
Verse three suggests that God will save you from imminent danger and things which could be fatal, and verse four illustrates that God will protect you under his wings because He is a faithful God. While these two verses apply to the natural life, the scripture is mainly targeting the spiritual life. God is saying that in your spiritual life you will be protected by divine grace. This is why it is critical to take residence under God’s divine protection, as explored last week. Satan will attack you in the supernatural, which is most commonly seen in our mindsets, and more often than not it will manifest in the natural, which is most commonly seen in our behaviors. For example, if you have the thought of being afraid to fail, your behaviors will align with this thought. If the thought is conscious then the behaviors may be avoidance of execution and if the thought is unconscious you may present as being easily distracted or lazy. Either way, you are not elevating which in turn is not you are not living out your purpose. This is why it is necessary to turn to God for habitation and dwell in His residence, meaning pray without ceasing so we can feed and nurture the Holy Spirit that dwells within us because this is where our safety lies! We do this by casting ourselves to Him through our faith and submitting under His power and providence. Once we do these things we will know that Christ’s wings are for healing, hiding, wholing, curing, and securing because our God has the golden feathers of protection!
