Romans 8:28 (NIV)
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
In this month's series, "Finding Peace and Wisdom in it All” we are exploring how God will give us peace and wisdom even in difficult circumstances. Today’s scripture identifies four key areas: patience, strength, faith, and purpose.
Consider the following:
This verse provides a reason for the necessity of patience when reaching our uniquely designed purpose. It is underscoring the fact that whether it is persecution, suffering, or celebration, all things will contribute to God’s purpose. Therefore, we must embody patience, be strong during the process, and have faith that the word of God will stand true. As it states in Proverbs 19:21, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart but it is the Lord’s purpose that shall prevail.” I encourage you to know that our strength comes from the Lord, and God will be able to walk us through times of trials and tribulations as we are fulfilling our purpose. Thus, our job is to stay connected to Christ so we can be fortified in the fact that no matter what it looks like all things will come together for the master’s plan.
If you are going through dark times or have moments of weakness, I encourage you to have patience, be strong, exercise your faith and know that God has a purpose over your life which may cause pain and suffering, but there will be a celebration! If you are coming out of your storm I want to encourage you to know it is necessary to share our testimonies so we can bring someone else through their dark times or through weaknesses.
