Galatians 6:9 (NLT)
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
How many of you all have gone on a fast from food before? Usually, during the fast, we are removing distractions to better be able to focus on God. Other times we are working on our self- discipline. Some of us may have never fasted from food but declared that they were going to change negative habits like having a self-righteous attitude, a condescending spirit, or lying tongue. Others may have even become determined not to return back to unhealthy relationships where you are devalued, underappreciated and disrespected. Whatever the call to action was and no matter how it was executed, God is saying when you feel compelled and have an unction in your spirit to change, do not get weary in well doing. Our text reminds us to have perseverance and do not be weary. Whether it is an emotional strain, a physical loss, or a spiritual struggle, know that you can find comfort in God, and God renews us daily because God is the source!
Consider the following:
In life, you may get met with many situations which tend to discourage and make you weary of doing what is right. For example, ungratefulness of some, unworthiness of others, change in circumstances, loss of material things, are all aspects of life that may make you discouraged. God is saying despite all that continue to the end to persevere in doing acts of generosity. Remember God is the source and he gives us resources. If you lose your job, a resource, God is the source of stability. If you lose your home, a resource, God is the source of shelter. If you lose your happiness, a resource, God is the source of joy. If you lose all hope in human love, a resource, God is the source of agape love! So, do not get weary in waiting to obtain what is really yours! Persevere toward the source because you will reap your harvest! Remember perseverance is an action word of patience. So keeping preserving! God will provide you more resources than you can ever think about! Be steadfast, be grateful, persevere toward the source!
