Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
The next step, is trust! Trust that God is by our side and will never leave nor forsake us as Psalm 23:4 reads, “I will fear no evil for Thou art with me!” Stay grounded in God’s word through daily devotional! Devote your time to learn God’s word. How do you expect to trust God and you don’t even know what His word says? As Miss Clara told Elizabeth, here are a list of scriptures that I use when I’m battling! Elizabeth took those scriptures and started to learn and recite them as she began rebuking the devil! So, how are you going to trust God in spite of if you don’t know the promises He has for you and what He is giving you? Often in life you desire God to just fix a situation and make it right, but you find it hard to trust in God because you don’t know that the scripture says in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Psalm 9:10, “Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 13:5, “But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.” Psalm 20:7, “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” and as Romans 15:13 proclaims, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with the hope by the power of the Holy Spirit!” So, stay in God’s word through reading daily devotionals! If you say, the bible is so big, I don’t even know where to start, start with downloading an app or purchasing a devotional. They have all types of devotionals for teens, men, women, single parents, newly married, and even couples dating. Therefore, it is no excuse to not read scripture, get engaged in His word, and understand the promises that He made in His word for you!
