Isaiah 40:28-31 Your War Wounds Tell a Story

Isaiah 40:28-31 (NKJV)
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Your war wounds tell a story, but have you taken the time to expose them? My war-wounds are relational, both romantic and familial, and the decisions I made in those circumstances. My war-wounds tell my resurrection story, which is why I was led to publish a book so others may also be healed. I appreciate my war wounds, although at times it may be hard to reflect on them. However, because of the God that I serve he always reaffirms the purpose He has for my life. So, when people start knocking at my war wounds' door, I can say it’s okay because I don’t live there anymore! God has filled me with His power and unfailing love. Where I am weak, He continues to expose those areas to me, so He may strengthen me. The areas in my life that have been strengthened are to not only strengthen me but help others by pouring into them the promises that God has for their life. Today, I encourage you to first not be afraid of exposing your war wounds and second know that when someone comes knocking at your war wounds' door, God will continue to heal and strengthen you so you can minister to others and they too be strengthened. As our scripture reminds us, he gives power to the weak and to those who have no might, He increases their strength! Amen.
