Proverbs 16:1-3 Are You Afraid of Commitment?

Proverbs 16:1-3 (NKJV)
The preparations of the heart belong to man, But the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the spirits. Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established.

Are you afraid of commitment? Now, I'm not just talking about it in the romantic human relationship context. I am referring to committing to Christ. Our scripture reminds us to, “Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will be established.” Often times, when we have to decide on our next step in life, we start to worry and sometimes even panic. In our own humanness, we tend to set aside Christ and run around like a chicken with our heads cut off not knowing what to do. It is imperative that you seek God to be a safe haven from other people’s doubts, fears, and worries. It is equally important that you spend time with him so he can direct your path. Therefore, today I encourage you to choose to commit all of your works and plans to Christ. I encourage you to trust that Christ has already established your plans, and to not be afraid to commit to the one who will never let you down! Amen.
