Isaiah 50:4 Challenges of Listening Prayer

Isaiah 50:4 (NIV)
The Sovereign LORD has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.L

Last week we read that listening prayer brings us on a quest with God which strengthens our relationship. It is my hope that you took time to the reflection questions. This week we are going to look at some of the challenges with listening prayer. “An Introductory Guide to Listening Prayer: God’s invitation for you to join Him on a quest.” click here to download guide.

Today I encourage you to carve out 15 minutes of uninterrupted time with God. During that time, have a journal and jot down anything that comes to you. In the beginning, it may be noise, or it may be complete utter silence. Whatever it is, every day that you spend quiet time with the Lord reflect on what He is saying. This technique will eventually assist you in determining your voice from God’s voice.
