Isaiah 50:4 (NIV)
The Sovereign LORD has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.
Last week we explored if God still speaks, and found evidence that He indeed does still speak. This week we are going to look at the reflection question, “Does He still instruct us to seek Him or listen to Him?” If God still speaks today, what does He expect from us? Let’s look and some scriptures that highlight seeking and listening to God.
It is God’s desire for us to seek Him and find Him. In the midst of seeking God, we must remember that our faith needs to be in it because sometimes His promises will not manifest until months, years, or even generations. I encourage you to seek God and wait expectantly. This is why it is important to have quiet time with Christ so you can hear Him clearly. Although many of the scriptures of listening reflect the consequences of not listening, it is clear that we need to be obedient in all areas of our lives. Listening to His word, the scripture, is to be an essential part of that obedience.
