Romans 12:1-2 Sustaining Total Transformation

Roman 12:1-2 (NKJV)
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Over these past several weeks we talked about developing our spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional health which starts with forgiveness. As we close out this Lenten season, I pray that each of your strive to sustain total transformation. Sustaining total transformation is achieved through discipline which truly only comes through prayer, fasting, and having an accountability prayer partner. We touched on prayer and fasting when we discussed developing our spiritual health. However, let’s explore having an accountability prayer partner. This accountability prayer partner is a person who will check you in love when your faith becomes weary. He or she will remind you that there is no gray on this Christian walk and as our scripture highlights, “that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Today, as we enter into the last few days of Holy week, I encourage you to take a health check, and ask yourself are you doing your reasonable service? How are you feeding yourself spiritually? In what ways do you challenge yourself intellectually? Does your physical health match your spiritual health? Are you emotionally stable with the mind of Christ? Have you forgiven all of your transgressors in honor of your freedom?

After you conduct a wholeness check, now ask yourself do you have an accountability prayer partner who is real and transparent with you and you can be open and honest with them without anyone’s feeling getting hurt? If not, pray that God sends you an equally yoked friend to assist with sustaining total transformation. Pray that God sends you an accountability prayer partner that is willing to stand in the gap for you when your flesh gets weak. Pray that God sends you an accountability prayer partner that will remind you not to be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind! This journey is not easy but it is necessary!
